Every month we like to find a new totally out-of-the-ordinary beauty product to try. This month’s find: The Nooni Marshmallow Whip Maker. Read on to find out if this strange little contraption from Korea lived up to the hype.
What it is:
Popular Korean brand Nooni’s Snowflake Whipping Cleanser is a light and creamy cleanser on its own. It contains a ton of anti-aging and skin calming ingredients like pearl powder, rose and daffodil. But when used with the Marshmallow Whip Maker, it becomes a super-light fluffy foam that’s gentle enough for even the most sensitive skin. Using a light foam reduces friction so the cleanser doesn’t tug at the skin while you wash your face.
How to use it:
Squeeze a pearl-sized amount of cleanser onto the punch pad. Then add water up to the dotted line and pump up and down for 15 seconds. Massage the fluffy whip around your face for a minute or so and rinse.
First of all, using this little whipping device is fun as hell. If you have young kids, this could be a great way to get them to wash their faces! Even though using this is an extra step in my skincare routine, I don’t mind it because it’s actually enjoyable.
The first time I used this, I used WAY too much cleanser- I probably made enough foam for 3 people. That’s my favorite quality of this product- because you only need a small dot of cleanser each use, the fairly large tube will last a LONG time. The directions are in Korean, so if you don’t speak Korean, remember to use just a pearl-sized dot.
The foam is extremely lightweight, which makes it great for sensitive or aging skin. I wouldn’t recommend it if you’re looking for a deeper clean. My face felt clean-ish afterwards and it removed almost all makeup… but it definitely wasn’t the level of clean I get from using a stronger cleanser like the Magic Stone.
